"When a sentence is spoken repeatedly and in a rhythmic manner, it becomes a mantra. According to the Aitareya Brahmin text for the Gayatri Mantra, the one who protects life is Gayatri. According to Shankaracharya's language, the wisdom, intelligence, Ritambhara, or wisdom that leads to knowledge of reality is Gayatri. Gayatri is not a goddess, a deity, or an imaginary power, but it is the will of God, which manifests itself in a person in the form of good intelligence.
This means that a person does any work only after thinking about everyone's welfare. It makes that person's life meaningful and successful. When Brahma ji was born, the first question he asked was, 'Who am I, and why was I born?' As soon as he gained knowledge about himself, he chanted the Gayatri Mantra and composed the Vedas. That is why Gayatri is also called the Mother of Vedas. This is the first power to create the universe.
That's why it was called Adishakti. All the divine powers are streams of this Adishakti. That is why it is called Mother Goddess. The entire world originated from this Adishakti; hence, it is also known as the Mother of the World. The Gayatri Mantra has 24 letters, which awaken the 24 nadi systems of the body. In a way, the Gayatri Mantra creates the right place for the powers to come into a person's mind.
Gayatri is the Kamdhenu cow, which removes all the sorrows of man. The Gayatri Mantra has tremendous power. There is no mantra greater or higher than this. According to Indian culture, all mantras are made from the Gayatri Mantra only. There is a saying, 'The more jaggery you add, the sweeter it is.' Similarly, the Gayatri Mantra gives results according to the faith and belief of the person."
"Even though all human beings are equal, some people have different characteristics and remain engaged in welfare works. Even great men, sages, gods, and goddesses have all chanted the Gayatri Mantra to achieve success. Even Mahadev, the Lord of Gods, says that he constantly chants the Gayatri Mantra. When a person chants the Gayatri Mantra, there is no immediate difference in their physical body. However, a subtle change occurs within. For example, a special kind of fragrance starts emanating from their body. There is enthusiasm in the mind, a feeling of lightness in the body, and a reduction in selfishness with an increase in altruism. Future events are sometimes foreshadowed in advance, and the skin becomes soft. These changes become visible in their body, and such a person starts experiencing wealth, prosperity, and success.
According to the Atharvaveda, Gayatri is said to bestow life, power, fame, wealth, and Brahmatej upon the seeker. Gayatri is like Kamdhenu, which means it increases virtues. When adverse circumstances arise, they often come from all sides, as the saying goes, 'Adversity never comes alone; it always brings its children with it.' At such times, Gayatri protects the person from troubles and brings all its powers to their aid."
"If the Gayatri Mantra is chanted while contemplating faith and its meaning, it enhances the strength of the soul, leading to spiritual healing. Therefore, Gayatri Sadhana is a proven method to boost self-confidence spiritually. The center of all Riddhi Siddhis (spiritual attainments) lies within the soul. Gayatri is symbolized by two elements - Yajnopavita and Shikha.
Yajnopavita encompasses nine qualities - knowledge of life science, the strategy of accumulating power, superiority, purity, divine vision, virtue, prudence, restraint, and service. Shikha, on the other hand, has been a cultural tradition in India since ancient times. It is akin to the antenna on modern technological devices like radios, televisions, and telephones, aiding in their proper functioning. Similarly, the crest symbolizes the core of the intellect and heart, much like Prayag is called Tirtharaja due to the confluence of Mother Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. In the spiritual realm, Gayatri is likened to Triveni.
Just as it embodies Sat, Chit, and Anand (Existence, Knowledge, and Bliss), and represents Satyam (Truth), Shivam (Auspiciousness), Sundaram (Beauty), it encompasses various aspects, destroying three sorrows – ignorance, powerlessness, and lack. The meaning of the 24 letters of the Gayatri Mantra is as follows: 'Om' - Brahma, 'Bhu' - life form, 'Bhuva' - remover of sorrow, 'Swah' - form of happiness, 'Tat' - that, 'Savitur' - brilliant, luminous, 'Varenyam' - the best, 'Bhargo' - destroyer of sins, 'Devasya' - to the divine, to the giver, 'Dhimahi' - to bear, 'Dhiyo' - to the intellect, 'yo' - which, 'nah' - our, 'prachodayat' - inspires.
The complete meaning is as follows: 'Let us imbibe that life form, the form of happiness, the remover of sorrow, the best, the bright, the sin destroyer, God in our conscience, and let that God inspire our intellect to walk on the right path.' According to the Vedas, by pondering and meditating on the meaning of these 24 letters of the Gayatri, one attains religion, prosperity, desires, and liberation. This is the rejuvenation of the soul."
